Tyres are one of the toughest and most functional parts of your vehicle. Do you agree? However, constant usage without any servicing can damage your tyres badly. Damaged tyres not only harm the vehicle, but also endanger the driver, passengers, and other road users. Proper maintenance of your tyres is a crucial step people often ignore. Regular servicing can influence your tyres life and even affect their performance.
Several factors can affect your tyres’ life and damage them completely over time. Puncture is quite a good reason. Tyres can surely suffer from damage due to getting punctured. Though the extent of the damage is determined by which portion of the tyre was punctured. The area of your tyres gets highly affected and the severity of the puncture tells you whether or not it can be repaired. If not, replacing your tyre is the only option.

How Do Tyres Get Punctured?
  • If your tyre got stung by a sharp external material like a pebble, glass, nail, etc., the possibility of getting a puncture is high.
  • If you are driving on a rough and abrasive road and you hit potholes, the probability of getting a puncture in your tyre increases.

So, to avoid getting your prestigious Tyres Derby punctured, avoid driving recklessly and pay some attention to your tyres.

Whether or Not Your Tyre Can Be Repaired?
Again, there are different aspects to consider to figure out whether your tyre can get repaired or not.
  • If your tyre got punctured in the middle of the tyre tread, it might be able to get fixed. It is a basic phenomenon that tread is stronger and thicker from the centre and it can handle damages to some extent. If the damage is major, your tyre might not get repaired.
  • Your tyre can be fixed if it has been punctured by a small external material. Small objects can cause little damage and are responsible for causing tiny holes in the tyre. Tiny holes cannot cause any severe damage but must be fixed as soon as possible. Punctures from tiny objects can lead to tyre blowout at a fast speed.
  • If your tyre has been punctured by a big sharp object, it is certainly difficult to fix the puncture. The bigger and sharp objects cause deep cuts in the tyres.
  • It is hard to fix the tyre if there is any internal damage to the tyres. if the cut or puncture was deep, it could have possibly damaged the internal system of the tyre. The internal damage can directly impact the performance, function and can even sacrifice your safety while driving.
  • If the puncture has destroyed the sidewall, it will be difficult to repair it. The sidewall is the protective shield of the tyre and unlike tyres’ tread, it cannot be repaired. The sidewall has some major functions and getting punctured can impact the functionality and structure of the overall tyre. Sidewall getting damage is more like a red flag.

How Is Repairing Done?

Repairing a tyre means fixing or replacing the damaged part from the tyre. Now, puncture repair is protecting your tyre from any moisture and sharp external object from getting inside the tyre. It is mandatory to inspect your tyre to find out the exact location of your puncture from outside. If there is a tiny hole, you can easily get it fixed by a patch that seals the hole and prevents air leaks. If you are not able to do so from the outside, you will have to check your tyre from the inside by dismantling the tyre parts.
If you notice major damage on your tyre, replacing the tyre with the best quality Pirelli Tyres Derby and changing your tyres at the right is the best option to maintain your safety and comfort while driving.
